The general fishing as a whole has been decent this week with good numbers of kings, tunas, jacks, and a few sails and Yahoo mixed in. Not a huge deal, as the mutton snappers have been biting pretty well in the deep and should definitely fire up the patches with this front coming in early Friday morning.

We had the first cobra sighting on the rays this week, so that is a positive sign of things to come. More ballyhoo should get pushed out of the bay with the weather, but the cigar minnows and pilchards have been tough the last few days.

We’ve had another breezy week down here, but the wind forecast is improving as we head into the weekend and the temperature is on the rise. With the temperature warming up and wind dropping out, you may be able to find some permit or bone fish on the flats.

If you're looking to bend some rods and have a lot of action, you can fish around the channels and deeper cuts all over the backcountry and close to the mangrove islands.
