Their Shrimp Quesadilla comes with homemade fresh guacamole. Beer and Wine on tap... Great place to relax and meet up with friends.
Service was fast and friendly and the grouper tacos were delicious! Reviewed June 3, 2020, Service takes time but the food is made to order and you can tell.
The owner is great, Adam, and they have Italian wine ON TAP. Reviewed May 17, 2020, We chose this place because it is a small locally owned business.
During this time we felt we wanted to help our small local business owners. We located the business, in a small strip mall across from the beach, and decided to order take-out.
When...we got out of the car, there were a couple of tables outside and seated atone of them were two men smoking cigars. After the long shutdown you would have figured they would have put that time to use...oh well.
We were still standing around when we saw the cook come out another door that led from the kitchen to the sidewalk tables. After a considerable amount of time, he pulled the door handle to go back in the kitchen WHILE STILL WEARING HIS GLOVES.
When he came inside I asked if he could please put on fresh gloves before handling our food. After about 20 minutes, we were the only customers, he appeared with our meals, and we left.
Upon our arrival home we opened the containers and discovered raw/rare grouper. Now I had researched this place before calling and knew the OWNERS NAME WAS ADAM.
YOU MUST CHANGE YOUR GLOVES EACH TIME YOU TOUCH SOMETHING THAT ISN'T FOOD TO DETER CROSS CONTAMINATION. He then started attacking me saying he “did not feel comfortable even opening his doors at the mandatory max 25% capacity because he was risking his employees health due to exposure from customers not wearing masks” His employee was not wearing a mask, which is mandatory for food service workers at this time.
I then asked how the customers, he was so fearful of, could eat if they were wearing masks?? Reviewed December 30, 2019, Best grouper sandwich we had on vacation, and good fish tacos, too.
Low-key atmosphere, walking distance to beach, condos, friendly woman running the place when we stopped in. Reviewed December 28, 2019, via mobile My husband chose this restaurant for date night because he had read that the steamed shrimp are very good.
Reviewed October 15, 2019, We went to this small but, great restaurant. After going to other restaurants, we think this place has great prices and wonderful food.
The restaurant is very clean (especially the bathroom) and the food is super fresh! They aren’t your traditional type though, you order at the counter, and they run a tab for you till you are ready to leave.
And don’t forget to get their famous steamed shrimp! Reviewed August 6, 2019, Very casual atmosphere with a nice selection of local seafood and reasonably priced.
Order at the bar and server brings out the food later. Need to look for the restaurant as it is located in the corner of a strip store.
Seeing Kola Park requires time and efforts, so if you feel hungry after, visit this BBQ for a tasty meal. Taste mouthwatering prawns, shrimp tacos and grouper sandwiches.
Try nicely cooked key lime pie to form your opinion about Groupers. The well-trained staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place wonderful.
COVID-19 Alert: Hours and menu options may be affected due to the COVID-19 coronavirus. Please contact the restaurant directly for updated info.
Italian, Pizza, Seafood, Vegetarian options $$ ... My wife and I both had the blackened grouper sandwich and it was the best fish I've ever had.
Cuban, Sandwiches, Vegetarian options $ $$$ ... for us to visit the Kooky Coconut, especially for the Cuban sandwich, that we simply could NOT pass it up!...
Some of our group got the various Cuban sandwiches and a few got burgers $ $$$ ... enjoyed the bar service, the music and the food.
I had a groupersandwich, and we also ordered boiled and fried shrimp. It s family owned, kid friendly and great for groups ....
We went on a Wednesday, planning on taking advantage of their oyster special, but by the time we arrived close to 7:30, they had already sold out. The owner explained he never wants to have any left over as oysters go bad quickly: there’s quite an art to figuring out how many to order when you can’t predict the number of clients.
With a slice of key lime pie, 3 draft beer, our bill was $24. Staff were all extremely friendly and knew most of the clientele.
Excellent food from a somewhat limited menu, but then again, I applaud the chef for doing a few things well, rather than a full menu of just average. Menu items tried: Grouper Reuben sandwich, a pound of steamed shrimp ($10!!) Hidden away in the back corner of a small strip center, blink and you'll miss some seriously good food.
In this area there are a lot of options for seafood, especially grouper. Adam was super attentive and explained that it's a small two-person operation right now, but he's hoping to hire more people for the season.
Loved the small mallet for the crab legs too! With drinks, cup of gumbo, 1lb steamed shrimp, grouper sandwich and 1lb crab legs our bill was less than $50.
We found this place by accident and liked it so much, we went back the following night... The food... 1 pound of gulf shrimp $10.95...
