Can You Group In Torghast

One of most interesting new features added to World of Warcraft in Shadow lands is Toughest, an ever-changing, scalable instance. Mobs, rares, and the final boss in Toughest have more health and deal more damage based on the number of people in the group.

That means Toughest is theoretically pretty balanced for any group size. Guardians and other tank classes can usually clear the instance faster because of their high survivability.

This appears to be the state of Toughest right now: in same-ilevel gear, tanks can much more easily (and more quickly) clear it than DPS specs. And even though enemies have less health with a healer, the self-healing they need to do to stay on top of damage can slow them down and make it hard to meet DPS checks.

For a solo player, they may reach the end of Floor 6, only to realize they have no way to complete it. That’s a risk for any group, but it’s more dangerous for solo players who have fewer tools to handle boss mechanics.

Solo, a Beast Master Hunter’s pet can reasonably handle the enemies without dying often (even elites and rares), and the final boss is a little more difficult, but still doable. While solo, they may be able to pull half a floor and be fine, in a group as small as three players, that will wipe them.

This makes Toughest take longer, even though your larger group is dealing out more damage, that enemy health increase slows things down. A healer also offsetting the health can help, and depending on how well the tank can self-heal, might be necessary to keep larger groups alive with the increased damage.

Because of the current scaling, at the moment a tank, healer, and one DPS is a fairly easy group. Adding two more DPS, to make it more like a dungeon run, increases the difficulty significantly.

It’s not impossible, of course, but it requires more coordination, more damage output, a higher level, and maybe a longer time commitment from those involved. Starting on December 8 on North American servers, Layers 4 through 6 will be unlocked.

Perhaps soloing these new layers won’t be as easy for tanks anymore, but so far they’ve had an edge in Toughest. So keep gearing up, find players toucan rely on, and be prepared for the final challenge of Layer 8 to earn your Corridor Creeper.

Toucan also use it to keep track of your completed quests, recipes, mounts, companion pets, and titles! Field Marshal So, as a monk tank, I was able to solo the first 3 layers of thought with ease.

Scarab Lord When I do layer 3, I tend to take my time and get all the anima powers that I can. High Overlord My experience is that unless you struggle a lot its way easier solo.

The Patient If you have a heal or tank spec, it's far easier solo. If you're a pure DPS, you have to do it at the correct difficulty, and it's easier solo.

Basically it actively disincentives tanks and healers from grouping, while screwing DPS. With Drain Life and Mortal Coil, not to mention Hearthstone, you're about as good as it gets.

Plus the aforementioned pet tanking meaning you don't even need to heal a lot. Blade master Toughest is tuned around the player having insane anima powers.

I did both wings last week at layers 1-3 solo as affliction lock and as sub rogue. The only time I actually struggled (and several of my friends) was a certain old dude vampire boss in the Upper Reaches.

The wing itself wasn't giving decent anima powers on all layers on both chars, and the boss seems to have been overtones (we couldn't 2-man it as lock+havoc DH, and it took several tries to kill him solo as rogue). Watch for your void walker's HP, may be got a power for an instant summon after it dies, demon's HP and its DMG reduction during health funnel, but only when you don't have a viable DMG option.

Cleared all three levels o both Upper Reaches and Soul forges without any difficulty other than a Rock elemental boss that I had to try a few times on level 2 and then there was Patrician Cromwell who was hell until I bought those smoke bombs that make you untouchable. Mobs are not a real concern for now and with some powers (+25% eviscerate damage or +2% HP on Marat kill) the place becomes a joke to the point that I can one shot many mobs already or down them in an opener.

I guess in the end is the only thing you need to succeed is luck with the powers you get. My 160ilvl UH DK couldn’t finish later 3 upper reaches but had no problems layer 3 of the other 1st week one.

Groups of 2-3 keep the scaling down and, from what I’ve heard, are pretty easy to do and not much more challenging than solo. In a group I went into with 5 players the elite mobs had health that rivaled dungeon bosses, and without having CDs for all of them they took a while (this was a pug, so I’m sure damage Wei pretty terrible as well).

Lots of specs probably don’t have their Legos for it, as well as not having the conduits that work best. On the flip side, I fully expect to see people complaining and upset they can ’t clear the upper layers without help, much like how some people struggled getting 3+ mask visions done.

For layer 3, take your time, explore everything, get as much phantasma as possible, and always pick powers that will help against the final boss. I personally died just once in all my attempts combined due to careless traps activation of all things.

The only thing I had trouble with was Genus the Chained, but it was just because it's a very long fight and the soft enrage was stacking. Stood in the Fire The most important thing is not to pick “meme-upgrades” = AOE, speed, pro con kill.

Always pick upgrades that will help on bosses = single target, defensive, on use etc. Some specs and classes have it easier in Toughest, but the same was true for visions.

So, as a monk tank, I was able to solo the first 3 layers of thought with ease. As a warlock, I was utterly destroyed by the construct boss on level 2, because I can 't heal myself and do damage at the same time.

Is the ability to solo it locked behind anima powers RNG ? Yes this was designed to be a group content sadly wow player base instantly twisted and perverted it into solo content and another boost selling machine.

Is that true for holy priests as well, because I know a few that are complaining and maybe sending them in as healer would make it easier on them than shadow. There are some green traits that I know have just won me the dungeon in a solo run, where's all they do in a group is me pulling threat off the tank.

Edit: Also I have to question the IV guide for arcane. Calling rune cloth wrappings a c-tier power, WTF. I hope the other guides make more sense, otherwise I know where the complaints might be coming from.
