And for many, it’s the only time of year you can watch a show that’s been on television for decades without people telling you it’s old and stale.
So in a way, the Golden Globes are like a big party for film. Everyone in the industry goes to it to celebrate its best work. It’s also a chance for people to catch up on all the latest gossip and get to know the people that will be making the big Hollywood movies in the future.
The Golden Globes are so much more than that though. They are a year-long awards show where the nominees are chosen by industry professionals and the winners are announced by Hollywood’s power brokers. From there, the winners get to go on a short tour of Hollywood, with the Golden Globes host, the Oscars host, and the Emmys host all present to show the people what Hollywood is really all about.
So, for those of you who aren’t in Hollywood, what is the Golden Globes about? Well, it’s about giving the people who run Hollywood a chance to be heard. It’s about the fans being able to make their voices heard. It’s about the people who make the movies getting a chance to be seen in the world.
You could call it the world’s biggest awards show. It’s a big honor to be a part of it, and if you’re not in Hollywood then you probably shouldn’t be there. It’s not like you have to be a famous celebrity to get a place at the show. The Emmys, which are also known as the Oscars, are not actually an award show.
Sure, they are. And yes, the Emmys are indeed an award show. However, there’s no way you could just walk up and get a place for the night. That’s because The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences controls all the actual awards for the big categories, and they have to see who is nominated. And the only way they can actually see who is nominated is to go to the shows and vote.
People who are nominated for a category typically go to a few shows and vote for the winner. Some categories have very strict, hard and fast rules about who can and can’t vote, so the show where you are nominated is the only one that you can vote in.
Golden Globes are a little tricky to get to. They usually are the last show on the weekend (in the case of awards, it’s often the last show at the end of the day), so if you’re going to be nominated, you have to wait until Sunday to see if you’re nominated. And, because the awards are so important, many nominees wait until the show to see if they are going to be nominated.
I am not sure if Golden Globes, awards, or anything else can ever be a good or bad thing. They have been used to create the impression that celebrities are only worthy of this or that award. This is a major problem, because in reality the fact that a person has won an award does not mean they necessarily get to keep it. And, at the end of the day, we don’t really care what the movie industry values. We care about our favorite actors.
