How To Replace Youtube Comments With Reddit Comments In Chrome

There are many subreddits where sharing of links is completely banned. If not all this, you can use Reddit to chitchat with random users in some useful subreddits. We are unofficial tech blog that covers little known tips and tricks of Google Products… read more.

SHINE for Reddit is another Reddit extension for Chrome that changes the way it looks and feels. While I personally prefer the Reditr Client App, SHINE for Reddit also deserves to be mentioned because of the simple design and usability benefits it brings. It allows you to switch between canadian marcellus edson patented which food item in 1884 grid view and list view, change the sidebars and other features. I recently discovered some Chrome extensions that elevated the Reddit experience to a new level and I thought I would share them here. Have you ever read the comments that some users leave on YouTube videos?

Off The Record HistoryCan Save browsing history even in incognito mode for that particular session. Download and install the said extension to your web browser. Much like SHINE, Reditr brings an alternative UI to the table. But instead of going image heavy and Material Design, Reditr takes cues from Twitter clients like TweetDeck. Reddit, the self-titled front page of the Web, is shockingly out of sync with the rest of the world.

Extensive use of extensions can significantly slow down the browser. Now, go to YouTube (youtube.com) and search for any video that you want to watch (ex. Fifty Shades of Grey Trailer). On your Chrome web browser, go to the Web Store then search for a free browser extension called “AlienTube for YouTube” by alientube.co. One thing we can all agree on is that YouTube comments are hardly entertaining to read. And ever since YouTube forced the Google+ thing down our throats, they’ve gotten worse.

With that, there’s a plugin that lets you hide the sidebar, taking advantage of the full width of your screen for the content. It conveniently adds a show/hide link by the other important links in the top right. The first and the most major difference that you’ll notice is the presentation. While AlienTube replaces the comments section of YouTube with that of Reddit’s, Epiverse lets you view the Reddit comments from within the extension. If any webpage that you visit has ever been shared on Reddit and that post has some comments, you’ll see that counter on the extension’s icon.

Being able to see all different reddit pages on youtube videos is one of my absolute favorite extensions on a web browser, in order to get different discussions on said videos. On chrome, alientube was good until the dev stopped support; although it was picked up and reworked on github to work wonderfully again. AlienTube is installed as a browser add-on and offers us alternative comments to those present in the videos posted on YouTube. We’re referring to the comments that users leave on Reddit, a well-moderated community in which thousands of interesting topics are discussed.
